Madeira reflective thread.

This new thread comes in 500 metre cones and it is expensive at 27€ per cone. My question is; how many stitches can 500 meters do? Im doing a relatively standard text on the back of a work Jacket and it comes out around 18,000 stitches. If it uses up the 500 meters then it really is not worth doing but if it uses only 50 then it come more viable. I should know the answer after so many years doing embroidery but I dont.

OK, found the answer to my question. For every 1,000 stitches you use 5 meters of top thread and 2 metres of under thread.
