If the attack is primarily from China, why don't they just block China's IP addresses? Or don't they have a firewall that's up to the task?
Re: 123-Reg hosted websites go offline after 'China attack'
my server prob gets about 10 ppl trying to hack it everyday
it just automatically blocks them after 5 attempts
which is a pain as it has blocked me many times as my ip changes alot lol

Good idea! Although if it's anything like in the movies that would be too easy, lol.JSR;46315 wrote:If the attack is primarily from China, why don't they just block China's IP addresses? Or don't they have a firewall that's up to the task?
Maybe the hack was re-routed somehow though, there are programs out there that can 'spoof' your IP-Address to a different country entirely through SSL technology...I bought a laptop off eBay once that had it installed, I think it was called Viper VPN or something like that - needless to say I deleted it straight away, not sure how legal things like that are
