Epson to Ricoh

After starting this hobby/business to be on a tight budget to see if I would enjoy it or not. I've decided it's time to get rid of my epson sx130 and re-fill able cartridges with sub ink (full) and try and get myself better results and treat myself to a Ricoh printer, two questions?
how much would you sell epson for?
what Ricoh printer would you buy and who from?

Are you looking at A4 or A3? TBH I can't see the printer being worth a great deal and I'm assuming it isn't running supported inks so you won't be able to sell it openly I'm afraid It's highly likely a member may contact you through PM ifg they are interested

Well I recently bought a ricoh gxe 3300 which is superb and is a proven a4 ricoh printer but they have superseeded this with the 3110. regards who to buy from I beleive the best price you will get is from Martin at BMS with discounts etc.

1. dont sell it. keep it as a back up.
2. it all depend what size you want to print.
3. as you are premium member your best shot will be BMS. give them a shout. they have cash back offer now.

Great advice from Paul there to keep as a backup, I have a cheap A4 here, makes more sense to keep it than sell it for peanuts. BMS will probably be your cheapest bet, certainly on the newer A4 Ricoh but don't dismiss Listawood as they still have 10% off everything, may worth dropping Becki a PM.

dont think i can answer that one

to be honest i havent had many problems and i can get away with my epson for a little while longer yet, but lets be honest here supported inks is not the route im using so i just thought i would get better results using a ricoh with sawgrass inks,
only reason i was thinking of selling the epson was im a little short of cash to get the ricoh just yet and i thought it would help me get nearer the figure.

It depends on the inks you are using, as to whether they would be better quality than Sawgrass' own - some inks are cheap rubbish, but some are very good, and reputedly better than Sawgrass. Just because Sawgrass hold a patent, doesn't necessarily make their inks the best on the market.
Am not saying this to necessarily put you off, just I'd be wary of your assumption of it (a new Ricoh) must be a better system just because it is Sawgrass. It may be depending on whether the inks you have got are any good, how good the ICC profile you are using, and how well your current printer is printing.

Does anyone here have a Ricoh, and a decent quality Epson/Brother with non-Sawgrass inks which has been custom ICC profiled, that could do a head-to-head print to compare the differences (or has this been done already?)

Not sure if anyone would openly admit to using non-approved ink in their printer, so doubt very much this comparison has been posted on here.

Perhaps some kind soul might PM you the comparison if they have got one.

Maybe someone has a large format printer where they are able to use non-Sawgrass inks without legal problems, but also have a smaller Ricoh for doing mugs ... though I do doubt that this scenario would happen as a large format user, would more than likely also use their large format inks in their small printer too.
