 yep, its true.....less than 6mth old !- not the sub one - the ordinary dye ink one - but this has got me worried now for the sub one

refilled the cyan and done a head clean - test print - no friggin colours !!....what the hell ???

another 2 head cleans and still same.....cant do any more clean..
so started a test print from PS....bands of colours......10 copys and -
NOT ONE colour came out !..black fine - refilled that same time as the cyan...

so after another 5 test prints, the thing starts to "paper jam".....JEEZ!
takes jammed paper out - reload....beep beep bloody beep..."paper jam"....

it then printed one test sheet, still with only black, then the bloody thing is flinging out paper jam errors when there is no bloody paper in it .....

this is the one i had the pigment inks in, remember guys ?
cleaned out and installed plain dye inks......

tomorrow will be the time to tell if my "3yr UNLIMITED/WHAT EVER HAPPENS" warranty holds up.....up to city with it tomorow....see if they are full of **** or gonna honor it

if it wasn't for the warranty - it would have a baseball bat through it by now

Have you tried unplugging it for a few minutes, then see if you have the same problem.

thanks guys.....yep have tried all the obvious, unplugging ect.....and YES Paul, i have 3 yr "whatever happens" on both my brother 5910dw's.

when i bought them i asked about conditions of warranty, and said about inks ect....NO PROBLEM...."WHATEVER" happens, bring it in and we will exchange it THERE AND THEN - NO QUESTIONS ! for a new one of the same model/number ect.

unlimited amount of time your supposed to be able to do this over 3yrs.....this is part the reason i bought the 2 brother 5910dw's, A.they were on sale - b.this warranty - lets hope they keep to there word and its not just another crappy sales con they can get out of

Johnny, If you have it in writing there shouldn't be any problem but, if there is just say you will speak with Trading Standards on Monday morning for some advice. That usually does the trick.

I once had a computer from PC World that broke down & they said no problem we'll have it fixed for you within 48 hours. 2 weeks later I went back in as they still hadn't repaired it & they said it would be at least another 24 hours & I told them I wanted it now. I then walked out to my car to get something & went back in to the store & told them I wasn't leaving without my computer fixed. I'd gone to get a sleeping bag & told the manger I wasn't going anywhere without my computer. It was fixed & working within the hour.

thing is Ian - i NEED this printer for printing invoices.comp slips and other day to day stuff....i CANT wait for a repair.....the guy said in shop, just to bring it in and he will replace it there and then-no questions.....on the plus side, i know the sales guy from yrs ago elsewhere so i shouldn't get shafted with the "send off for repair" crap.

but.....

i have been "googlin" the phrase "what ever happens warranty" reviews, and it aint looking to pretty i must say ..and i aint buying another new one till this gets fixed as they are back up to £179 .
ok, i got a wee epson here but, i like my brother better.
looks like i will have to get the epson out the box and hooked up just now......this is what i bought it for after all...in case one of the brothers went ca ca  - but i AINT telling them that...hell no !!!!

well guys.
back for pcworld.....

there warranty is right enough.

told him what happened - no problem sir....do you have our "what ever happens" warranty ? - YEP.

then just bring it in here and we will replace it right away.

they even asked if i wanted to change it for another one...and pay the extra -could have got the 6510 for another £49...but i didnt see the point TBH...
more than happy with my 5910dw.

thats piece of mind for me for 3 yrs
