Re: flat bed delaminating? Ripples?

Post by JMugs »

Just noticed my flat bed is doing this, these are the worst ripples but the heat plate is breaking out in them all over!

My finger working hard as a scale bar.

Anybody else encountered this?

Bought in June from a well known reputable fine upstanding supplier, so not overly worried as I have faith in them, if indeed it is a problem.

I assume this isn't normal.

All comments welcome.

is that some sort of teflon sheet stretched over it ?? i must say the heatplate on mine is solid coated in a non-stick paint type stuff, most odd

Indeed Mrs Maggot, it does look like a teflon sheet.

rather than a permanent coating - how odd, well i presume the supplier will have the answer, as it will mess up pressing if it gets worse

Well BMS have responded, and assured me all is well. I shall continue pressing and observe the results. From past dealings with them I have no reason to doubt their advice.
Thier quick response was much appreciated.

Well good to hear that you should not be overly concerned. One of my older presses (very old target transfers machine well past it's best 'use by' date as it must be in excess of 25 years old) has a bottom platen 'foam' sheet that can on occasions dome like it is being blown up with air.
