here is my latest effort the left picture is true coluor of dog printing direct through power driver in settings sub products couler is correct but bottom of frame is blurred.

right hand picture power driver set to ceramic frame is not blurred at bottom but dog is orangy in the brown areas maybe difficult to see as low res on pictures iam totaly lost and 20 mugs down

iam printing direct from the editor would it make any diffrence if i saved them as jpeg before printing

Cant see pictures Steve, but just a suggestion why not use just the 1 mug and test some smaller images on it until you are confident that all the setting are clear? it'll save you afew mugs in the mean time.

Steve something to bear in mind is that unless your screen/monitor is calibrated what you see on screen is not necessarily what you will see in print.

thanks roger dont know to calibrate monitor on my laptop so are you saying the lighter image is correct ?

I have worked in graphics for 25 years, - and the whole issue of 'correct colour' is a minefield!
the 'correct'image is the one you like best!
I have spent vast amounts of time calibrating my entire setup, - and gained nothing.
What I do now is profile my printer correctly, and just trust the setup to do the job, - I know that monitors vary, and we print from 4 different PC's - each with their own different characteristics. The 'correct' mug is the one you can sell easiest, and the one that is easiest for you to create.
If you are doing your own work, and making runs, you have time to experiment and get it perfect (iyoho) but if you make mugs on demand, we usually use autolevels in photoshop, and print direct from powerdriver to sort out profiles automatically, - and we get great salable results every time! - which is what we all want!
If you really want to get into calibrated systems ....... - you even have to change all the lightbulbs in your workspace!

It's quite possible it is correct but in honesty unless you have a colour corrected photograph to compare it to you'll never know. There are ways of doing colour correction on a monitor. This article explains it in simple as opposed to too technical terms.....

Unless you have over £500 to blow on a colour corrected monitor if this is the problem you're having if it was me I would live with it if the results look OK.

Good point. I printed off 3 two metre banners and was annoyed at the colour reproduction so I scrapped them. The 4th one was finished just as SWMBO came home and I took it outside the workshop saying "look at this the colours are..........OH bu66er it". In daylight the banner colour was correct....as were the three others I had scrapped. I now have 'daylight' tubes in the overhead lighting.

thanks roger yes i understand what your saying phil i prefer the mug on the right hand side it is much clearer although the dog is slightly lighter in couler the only problem i have is it is not a true replication of the origanel photo i was sent luckily its a freind of mine and can always tell him its eyes but on a more seroius note unless i can print a replica of the image given to me i might as well give up now before i spend anymore money i can get correct couler printing under sub products but always get a blurred patch no matter what temp or time i use i cant beleive how much diffrence there is changing from sub products to ceramic
