Which size mug do you prefer to do?

I've been using 11 oz mugs but this time I bought some 10 oz ones and really like them.

Just a general nosey question really. Which size mug do you find sells better?

Do you offer both 10 and 11 oz mugs?

10oz every time, never met a customer yet that wants an 11oz

i think this debate comes from history.
Way back...... i think near all mugs were 11oz - and presses sized accordingly.
Then some bright spark realised you could make about the same volume (Durham) mug that was ever so slightly smaller, but weighed quite a bit less, so cost less to make. (thinner walls)
Some old skool mug presses could print both, some only did the older 11oz, but the newer ones could close that tiny bit tighter, so they could do both.
Now, i think the norm is 10oz.
from memory
11oz has 82mm diameter
10oz has 80mm diameter
same height, but thinner walls, so same volume.
Less mug mass = shorter cooking time, and less mug stuff = less cost.
so, imho - practicality has made the 10oz mug the 'standard'
my old press will only do 11oz, my new ones do both
virtually identical to look at, just do what you like or can get.
I suspect the days of the 11oz mug are numbered.....

I sell my 11oz mugs for a premium price, after all everyone else sells the small cheap mugs.

Bit tongue in cheek, but it is a way I upsell on some orders. So there is an opportunity to stand out in the market place.

In my experience my customers do not like the 11oz mug.

I think the 10oz is a nicer mug, more elegant and not as "chunky".

By the way guys, have a look at the Dinky Durham from Listawoods. I have not had the chance to purchase and sample yet as I am snowed under with standard mugs, but I think it could be a great seller and a nice new mug to introduce to the market. Well worth a box of anybodies money.

i disagree, 11oz all the way especially if you are trying to sell them at a good price. yes some are chunky, but others are nice with a good thin lip.

my argument is based thus, a few years back my wife ordered from pedlars a keep calm mug (when it was a new design). cost about a tenner with post and when it came it was a tiny mug. turned out it was a 10oz. very disapointing and felt ripped off.

of coure for my own use, 15oz all the way. martin's from BMS are really nice, great big hug of a mug!
