Seems that this happened to a lot of (very angy) people (who missed out on bidding for an item).
It's not an ebay problem, it's an OpenDNS problem (from what I can tell). If your ISP (or you) uses OpenDNS then you were caught by it.
Whoever's fault it is, it's a bit embarrasssing.
