Re: Mugs - Alternative print methods
Looking at alternative print methods for mugs and other items.
Attached image for reference. Not sure of this is water decal transfer.
Appreciate guidance on suppliers or preferably techniques used.

Re: Mugs - Alternative print methods
Water slide transfers, especially those designed for ceramics, need to be kiln fired after application to properly fuse them onto the ceramic piece and make them permanent; essentially "baking" the decal onto the surface with heat from the kiln. Do you have one?

Yes appreciate we would need a kiln, would be looking to get one.
Re: Mugs - Alternative print methods
UV DTF? You already have the presses. Order in by the linear metre to save the £20k for a machine.
Re: Mugs - Alternative print methods
Justin, this thread is over a year old but i had to ask.
Did you ever discover of the water slide was specially made for kiln firing or if it was "normal" laser water slide paper please?
Tha'ts assuming you took the idea further.

Re: Mugs - Alternative print methods
About 15 years ago I looked into water slide / kiln fired mugs. A kiln for approx 12 mugs was about £3000, so I stayed in the sublimation side of things.
Then a few years later I saw a business that was taking old mugs and personalising them using water slides and a kiln. Not sure that business survived as I remember thinking it was a lot of money for a used mug!
