Hi Viz shirt printing problem

Hi ... i bought 6 Hi Viz tops from BMS and have an issue with them ...

I have tried ringing BMS but got their answerphone again ..

I printed successfully on one top M size and then attempted to print on another size M top. The second Hi Viz wouldn't take the image ... it was very very faint indeed.

I reprinted another fresh sheet thinking it was that and again it wouldn't take it ...

After further inspection of both tops i could clearly feel the successful top had a softer smoother finish to the surface while the failed one was a much rougher feel.

Anyone from BMS could you please let me know your thoughts on this issue as i cant afford to let customers down while in shop ...

This has to be a problem with the material not accepting the inks ...

i have just tested the failed print on a test Hi Viz i did last week which i keep for test prints and it worked 100% .. this certainly indicates the failed Hi Viz is or has some kind of different makeup to the cloth ...

I have quite a few Hi Viz shirts left and just hope they don't fail .. Gulp

If you want to cover up any mistakes with a digital print, let me know and I can mail you the vinyl. Can leave a white block behind it.
I just assumed hi-vis wouldn't take a dye sub? Do you have a photo of a successful one?

Hi Vis sublimates really well as they are normally 100% polyester, you just obviously have to be aware of the colour change to anything you print (i.e. yellow will not show at all).

I have a job which just came in, the fella brought me 12 Yellow High Viz vests - they are 100% Poly.

I want to use Metamark metaTex Transfer Flex. the problem is the application guidelines state 170c and I am thinking this will melt the material.

Any thoughts?

I suppose the only way is to do a test..

i use Textile vinyls daily and fix at 160c for 15secs ... both on polyester and cotton ... and Hi Viz tops ... never had any problems

TMT Do a vinyl which press at very low temperatures,i think its called magicflex but i may be wrong,

Printed loads at 180c for 50 secs and never had any problems. Get my vests from a clothes supplier direct. As said the colours never turn out correct but as long as customer sees a printed one they normally say it will do.
