I know this is not on topic but I am really looking for help I have been messing around with many mugs!! i am trying to do a full image on a mug but always my image looks so weird it always stretches and squashes, I use Photoshop CS5 and cant seem to work it out if anyone can help or point me in the right direction that would be really great
You are trying to change the size of an image to make it fill the printable area on a mug?
I'd guess that you have just picked up a corner point and dragged the corner out to fit your template? What you actually need to do is to resize your image and not just stretch it to suit. That said you can actually get away with a bit of stretching - depends on the subject matter.
I could show you how to do it in a couple of minutes but to explain it clearly would take a tad longer.
You need to read up on 'canvas size' and 'image size' or try having a look on You Tube.
Fairly simple manipulations in Photoshop seem to cause Newbies more than a little anguish. Its a pit everyone is scattered so far and wide as i am sure that a face to face DSF beginners session on photoshop would be popular - forget all the fancy filters, its just the basics such as sizing, printing resolutions and making templates with a hole in that you can place your own photo behind that seem to crop up repeatedly. I would be happy to arrange to host an informal Sunday session in Cambridge (just off the M11 with parking, lecture room that seats upto 40, big overhead digital projector and whilst I couldn't feed the 500 - well theres always pizza delivery, I could lay on tea and coffee) where anyone interested can just pitch up with a laptop and we'd just see how it goes.
I suppose this ought to go up as a new thread really

hold down shift while you drag out to stretch the image to keep it in proportion, hold down ctrl at the same time to keep it centred on the point it is already placed.
