Hi all,

after finally getting some decent cases that actually print and not melt I've not run into my next issue (the joys of printing) I keep getting what I can only describe as blemishes a sort of sticky residue look on the print. Below are a couple of images.

I using truepix paper, sawgrass inks and a Ricoh 3110 printer.

(I know the print is backwards)

The cases look fine before print. Anyone have any any idea why this might be?

All my cases come out like that. It doesn't really bother me though. I don't think anyone would really notice unless looking at it at a certain angle/light.

Yes, that's the characteristic of the glossy case...It has that "water residue" look

I think it's possibly because in comparing them to a much superior print quality which I currently get sent to me but the cost of that is silly money compared to how much it costs me the produce a case now.

I had this to begin with but all fixed now. I think the residue is simply ink that hasn't bonded with the substrate. I wasn't drying my film/paper for long enough or cooking for long enough.

Not sure if my thread will help you? http://www.dyesubforum.co.uk/vbforum/sh ... ings/page2.

Hmmm,

I don't claim to be an expert as I'm still fairly new to sublimation myself. I know you're using trupix but what's the rest of your setup.

Are they Sublijet R inks.
Machine/Press?
Powerdriver/Win profile?
Photoshop?
What machine are you sublimating with?

Have you triple checked you ICC set-up? I only asked because even after checking it plenty of times I found one small mistake that made a big difference.

Hopefully someone in here can be more help. When you do fix it please post with your how-to.

Cheers and good luck,
John.
