EPSON L1800 film printing problem
Re: EPSON L1800 film printing problem
Hello forum community, this is my first post on forum, so glad i found this website useful.
I decided to start little phone case business so I am new to sublimation and already facing some printing problem.
I get very poor quality printing with EPSON L1800 on transfer film, it looks like too much ink is putted on film or image is not sharp enough with borders. Maybe anyone could help me or had same problem?
I am using:
EPSON L1800
SUNFLY dye sublimation ink
Transfer film a3 from SUNFLY
ICC profile from SUNFLY with video instructions.
I did everything as advised from sunfly, but just can't get correct quality. I already made many tests with different settings but nothing has worked. Maybe it's the ink or the film?

Re: EPSON L1800 film printing problem
Do you have a specific profile for that printer and film combination?
Re: EPSON L1800 film printing problem
Yes I have specific profile, for their ink film and my epson printer. They say it's the settings problem, but i can't solve this.
Re: EPSON L1800 film printing problem
sunfly adivised to use photo quality ink jet, but on this it put very much ink on film, it's better with plain paper but still very bad quality.

I don’t know anything about film, but just to check, are you printing on the correct side of the film?

Re: EPSON L1800 film printing problem
I have tryed in matte but in cmyk, on matte it puts much ink aswell. I will try matte in RGB. Yes I am sure I am printing on coated side, not on shiny:)

Re: EPSON L1800 film printing problem
This usually happens when profile isn't right or paper selection is wrong.
Re: EPSON L1800 film printing problem
I also have to mention that previously when i got the printer, i putted original epson ink, i did not know that special ink is required, so after that i sucked old ink and made many many prints to remove old ink, maybe this has something to do with it? I will try to order new film paper, but it looks fine and SUNFLY use it, maybe it is something with profile, but idk, they say it should work.
